The Stuck Pup

I was walking by

and heard a little cry

I look up

and see a pup

He's stuck in a tree

it's like he's calling me

He barks and barks for help

I can't listen to him yelp

So I climb up the trunk

the pup was really in a funk*

I just sit in the tree

the pup stares at me

To my surprise he jumps down

and I look at him with a frown

He walks away from me

and I'm stuck in the tree

*a bad mood
